As a full time business owner, marketer, entrepreneur, coach, movie producer and actor… I’ve had a lot on my plate over the past several years on a professional level.
How am I able to manage it all?
The truth is, *I* am not able to physically manage it all.
There’s no way that I could even run half of my businesses or projects if I were the only one involved.
For example, right here on Daily Conversions… Do you think I could make high quality posts every day by myself? Not a chance in hell. That’s why I’ve partnered up with Sam, and although I don’t consider him outsourced help it’s kind of the same thing just on a more personal, business partner kind of level.
These days, I’m pretty much focused on Coaching on List Playbook, Posting on Daily Conversions working on my other projects and doing movies when time allows.
I always outsource all my design work.
I outsource traffic generation from time to time. If it’s a new campaign in a niche that I haven’t tackled then I’ll jump in there myself. But, if it’s something like weight loss that Ive done 1000s of campaigns for then I’ll be quick to outsource it if I can find someone competent and knowledgeable to manage it.
I outsource my taxes, legal stuff and everything else that is crucial to a business owner. Don’t skimp on that stuff. On top of the $2,500 a year average that I pay to get my taxes done, I save over 10% on my taxes, which adds up to a lot more than $2,500 a year.
Ok, now that I’ve gotten rid of 75% of people that don’t read entire posts I have a special message for you all that do read
I’m looking for partners that are good at running traffic for a few projects. I can’t give you exact figures or too much information publicly but if you are good at running traffic (Facebook, Adwords, Media Buys, whatever) then contact me via the Contact link on the top navigation.
Sam recently recommended a book to me called The Four Hour Work Week. CHECK IT OUT. It’s great. Although I enjoy putting in many more than 4 hours of work for my coaching students, which I really enjoy, I do think the book has a lot of great ideas on how you can automate many parts of your business.
A friend of mine runs a site called Article Drove and that’s a great way to outsource content and articles that you don’t have time to write yourself. I do that for most of my “SEO sites.”
While I’m at it (putting other messages sort of unrelated to the subject in my posts now), in an effort to make sure people don’t just read the first paragraph – I’m going to tell you about something else down here.
I’m doing a special meetup at ASE 2010. If anyone wants in then let me know. We’ll do a dinner on Monday night of the event followed by going to one of the night events or parties. Let me know!
Lastly and back to the subject at hand I do think that there are other things that should never be outsourced. Whatever your specialty is, that is something that you should manage yourself until you need to scale up.
So, it’s perfectly OK to outsource for more help. But if you are struggling entrepreneur right now and you are outsourcing everything in an effort to get people to come up with all the creative stuff for you, it’s probably not going to happen.
Don’t put your future in someone else hands if you don’t even have a base yet. Outsource when you need to scale up or when you need a legal/accounting/other professional to do their speciality for you.
Start by focusing on your own specialty then outsource when you can’t do anymore yourself or if you find someone competent enough to run your same specialty. Stay away from relying on everyone else to get the infrastructure setup for you.

I know, sometimes it gets to the point where you as one person can’t do any more. I have had both good experiences and bad with outsourcing. Though I have to say as a whole they have been a good experience and investment.
I don’t know maybe I got lucky. Good post.

An important part of outsourcing is interviewing. Learn to interview and you’ll learn when to not hire. I always tend to not hire when there’s even a fraction of a doubt in my mind.

Great post. I’m all for outsourcing but I also agree that some people think spending money on outsourcing will absolutely make them money. The only way to make money online is being creative, which some people lack.
Its all about having a plan, then weighing out how much work is required, then finally deciding whether to outsource or not. Just my perspective.
